Cut down on the ever-destructive under hood heat in the engine compartment without adding complex, hard to install parts.
The M7 Exhaust Heat Shield is custom contoured and fits on top of the factory aluminum heat shield above the exhaust manifold or header of your R50, R52 or R53 MINI Cooper. It was developed in a real world environment and tested using electronic data acquisition equipment. During testing on a loop consisting of mixed driving on the freeway at high rpm and high speeds to generate as much heat as possible and in stop and go traffic on surface streets, the M7 Exhaust Heat Shield reduced under hood temperatures an average of 68 degrees F. The coolant reservoir and the steering pump reservoir stay much cooler, reducing the potential of failure of these components.
Manufactured from aerospace grade insulating materials, the top layer is bright reflective silver thermal fabric with a handsome 3" embroidered M7 logo and the bottom is made of a woven nomex fabric. The main insulating core is made from high performance composite nano-fiber ceramic pad material.
Includes a hardware kit and easy to follow instructions. One hour or less to install makes this a great DIY project.

- M7 Didn't Misprint Anything, I Read It Wrong.

Just be sure to have a small torque wrench. (Posted on 5/12/2022) - Great product so far, Wouldn't use the cover bolt included. Instruction Misprint.

My only gripe is that the supplied replacement valve cover bolt is not worth the risk installing. I slightly cracked my cover, thankfully not affecting the running of the car. It can just be held on with DEI gold thermal tape, not worth the risk damaging the cover.
Also the instructions have a deadly misprint. It says to toqrue the cover bolt to "100 lbs or 12nm". So I set my wrench to 100 and cracked it. Then I realized they probably meant 10lb......too late... (Posted on 5/10/2022) - AAA
