    Design

    This beautiful design is a result of advanced computer modeling and high precision CNC machining. Made in the USA from billet 6061-T6 aerospace grade aluminum alloy and finished with a deep black anodized coating and laser etching.  The Micro V-Belt grooves are machined to exacting SAE J1459 specifications for minimum belt slippage at maximum boost. Use this in combination with the M7 Speed 16% Supercharger Technology Pulley for maximum performance and boost yourself to the next level of MINI tuning and performance.

    From the factory, the GEN1 MINI suffers from two design failures related to the crankshaft Pulley; 1) The factory Pulley is press to fit on the crank. All aftermarket pulleys available are slip fit at best and rely on the bolt to provide adequate clamp force to prevent the pulley from slipping. The M7 Speed crank pulley is engineered with an interference fit onto the crankshaft eliminating pulley slippage on the crankshaft 2) The factory two-piece crankshaft Pulley will fail at approximately 1000,000 miles.  The M7 one-piece design will provide multiple thousands of miles of trouble-free service.

    Installation

    Simple to install. Heat the pulley to 375/400oF (190/205oC) in your kitchen oven or using a small propane torch and heat gun and the pulley will drop straight onto the crank. When it cools it will be super tight onto the crank. Finish the installation with the supplied ARP bolt and precision flat washer and presto...more power, more reliability and more overall performance for your supercharged or non-supercharged MINI

    I bought my 2016 Countryman used, not realizing at the time there was no spare. I discovered this (fortunately not in a time of need) shortly after putting on four new Michelin CrossClimate-2, so I was certainly not going to switch to run-flats. And like you, I want a spare. Always. The only reasonable solution I could find was a tire/tyre carrier as shown in the picture. It's made and sold by M7Speed (M7Speed.com) and cost me about $1,000. Not cheap and even less the case if shipped to a place where you use petrol. On the positive side, it installs easily in the threaded rear tow hook receivers and it swings nicely out of the way for lifting the hatch. No holes to drill and no mods to the car. Does not block either the plate or the rear window to any extent that matters. Money well spent for someone who loves the car but must have a spare.
