My Daughters '05 started leaking around the weld seam as usual! A friend told me about M7 and said they were great to work with, shipped on time and arrived perfect! One other thing, fitment is important, all the bolts lined up as they should with quality workmanship, great product and never will need to be done again! Very nice construction. If the height were about 0.1-inches less you could avoid bending the tab with the 10 mm nut, but it's not that big of a deal to do. Tight fit, which is good. Have to remove 4 bolts to the coils but do not have to disconnect any electrical connections to get the tank in.Quality Value Would Recommend

I have not had any problems YET with my stock coolant tank, but know plenty of people who have. It took me about an hour to get the Exact Fit Canton Tank painted Chili Red into my '06 R53 Chili Red/White. I had to unbolt and move my MSD coil pack and it took two tries to get the bottom hose clamp tight enough. I would pitch the screw type hose clamps and get those new wire twister items next time. I also bought the American Standard radiator cap with the RED lift up pressure release. It works great with the overflow hose setup. Overall looks much better than stock. The MINI's header / expansion tank is a awful flawed design. The OEM plastic bottle quickly turns yellow with age and stretches, distorts, cracks and finally splits. The OEM cap is also a poor design has a safety release system that is designed to release pressure once it gets above 14-16 psi. Unfortunately it does this by spraying hot coolant fluid all over your engine bay! There are many after-market replacement expansion tanks for sale by many different brands. Many of them still use the OEM cap and therefore do not solve this issue. The Canton expansion tank is different. It has a outlet that you can attach a hose to so that any release of pressure can targeted to direct fluids straight to the ground rather than just spraying them from around the cap. The Canton expansion tank that I received was a perfect fit. My mechanic was impressed and commented on the high quality of this item. It looks great in my engine bay and has not only given me greater piece of mind but has helped to keep my engine bay nice and clean. I'd have no problem recommending this product and would choose Canton over all the other brands that I have looked at. (Posted on 10/4/2015)Value - R53 Aluminum Tank

M7 shipped shipped my order extremely fast. The Canton racing product is beautiful- literally. For a daily driven Mini Cooper S it is probably overkill. Be aware that the reason the OEM plastic tank leaks is because it is exposed to heat from the nearby exhaust manifold. This aluminum tank will not leak, but it will get very hot very quickly. I ordered this product to replace the stock plastic coolant reservoir on my 2004 Mini Cooper S (R53). It took about 20 minutes to install, and fit perfectly in the stock tank's location. If you own a BMW product, you may already know that the OEM cooling system is prone to failure, owing to the high pressures within the coolant loop and BMW's insistence on using plastic components that fail after repeated heat cycles. Such was the case with my OEM coolant reservoir - it was spewing hot, pressurized coolant from the seam every time the engine warmed up. The Canton tank eliminates that issue, and because it uses a radiator-style pressure cap, it also eliminates another BMW engineering oversight - the plastic, screw-on cap on the original expansion tank. I'd heartily recommend this tank to any other R53 owners looking to upgrade or repair their cooling systems. (Posted on 10/4/2015)Value - Great looking tank

It is a VERY tight and it is not exactly an Exact fit however, its easy. All you have to do if you are having problems with the top not fitting so you can bolt it on is....bend the brace a tiny bit.
